After
earning her pre-med B.S. at the Lycee du Cent-Cinquantenaire
in Haiti, Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat studied at the Medical
School of the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in
Mexico. She then interned in Jamaica and returned to
Mexico for a year of community medicine. In the United
States, she pursued her residency in obstetrics and
gynecology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Milwaukee.
Dr.
Carolle's many awards include the Channel 10 ABC affiliate
Leadership award, the 1995 Outstanding Black Leader
Award from Channel 8 (a CBS affiliate), the 1996 Catholic
Charities Award for outstanding service to the Medical
Screening Program, the 1997 Peter F. Drucker Award
for Non Profit Innovation, the 1998 Southern Indian
Health council Certificate of Appreciation for a decade
of service, and the 1999 Woman of Excellence by the
Beta Pi Sigma Sorority.
